IT’S the last thing you want to hear when you’re travelling - engineering work this weekend so your train is replaced by a bus.

But why does it always seem to be at an inconvenient time and what actually goes into planning it?

We know that lots of things have changed in recent years but our ambition to build a railway that meets the needs of current and future generations remains constant.

Our railway is critical to making sustainable transport the easiest way for people to travel across Wales and its borders.

Almost 200 are in place at stations large and small since the programme began in February 2022.
