Mae ffeibr yn cysylltu â champws canolfan ddata fwyaf Ewrop

21 Aug 2026

Transport for Wales (TfW) ffeibr has linked South Wales directly into one of Europe’s largest data centre campuses, strengthening Wales’ digital economy.

The connection links Cloud Centres and Vantage Data Centres in South Wales, creating a high speed route that gives local businesses fast, reliable connectivity for cloud services, AI workloads and other modern digital applications typically found only in the UK’s largest metropolitan hubs.

It’s the latest step in ffeibr’s journey since launching in November 2024. Cloud Centres Networks was ffeibr’s first commercial contract, connected in partnership with Cardiff University in 2025. Having since extended its network into the heart of the city, ffeibr has now linked that same facility directly to Vantage, deepening ffeibr’s presence across South Wales’ data centre corridor.

The full-fibre network is built in parallel with the electrification of the Welsh Core Valley Train Lines, offering robust connectivity to some of the hardest-to-reach places in Wales.

Commenting on the project, Adam Price MS, Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy at Welsh Government, said:“This is a powerful example of how we can do things differently in Wales - using the assets we already have, to build the infrastructure we need for the future.

“By combining public investment with innovative delivery, TfW ffeibr is extending world class digital connectivity into the Valleys, not just our cities, and creating new opportunities for jobs, enterprise and innovation. Crucially, it’s a model that keeps value within Wales - reinvesting in our communities and helping us build a more resilient, inclusive and self reliant economy.”

Guy Reiffer, Managing Director of ffeibr, said: “For a long time, access to the highest-quality digital infrastructure has been concentrated around major cities. What we’re doing here is fundamentally changing that, putting the Valleys on an equal digital footing and making them a realistic, attractive base for data-driven businesses.

“This isn’t just about connectivity; it’s about confidence. When organisations see that they can access resilient, high-performance networks in places like Church Village, it changes how and where they choose to invest, grow and create jobs. That’s how we begin to unlock sustained economic growth in communities that haven’t always benefited from it in the past.”

Karen Foster, Vice President of Sales for Cloud Centres, said“We’re delighted to work with ffeibr, a new and innovative connectivity provider across Wales, who bring exciting new opportunities to our customers. Linking together the two leading hosting centres in South Wales adds value to our customers, who often host across both centres for Business Continuity and greater solution agility.”
