Mae treial sgrin arddangos digidol yn symud i Llandrindod

A digital display screen designed to give customers up-to-the-minute information is moving to Llandrindod Wells Station.

The digital display screen project saw eight mobile display screens deployed to Cardiff Central in August 2023 to allow customers to self-serve key details about their journey as well as station and local area information.

Transport for Wales (TfW) is now relocating one to Llandrindod on a 12-month trial to improve customer service at one of the busiest stations on the Heart of Wales line.

The digital display screen has been reconfigured and updated to show relevant information for Llandrindod. It is fully bilingual.

The screens also display posters on rotation, informing customers of changes e.g. engineering works, push campaigns and retail opportunities. TfW has access to a portal which allows them to create and manage playlists so they can tailor what posters etc are shown. 

The digital display screen currently displays the following information bilingually behind the buttons on the home screen:

  • Plan a journey
  • Live Updates – live departure and arrival info
  • Local Area Information - TfW have compiled a list of local attractions / amenities and customers can download walking directions to them via a QR code to then follow on their phone
  • Station information
  • Rail replacement information
  • Lost property
  • Passenger Assist
  • Cycle Routes
  • Feedback Live train map
  • Next direct trains

There are also rainbow boards, which show the route status across the network in an easily digestive colour-coded form. BSL messaging has also been recently deployed which communicates live departure information, as well as having a library of pre-recorded videos to cover disruption, engineering work, safety and security etc.
