Transport for Wales (TfW) offers Welsh SMEs excellent opportunities to tender for business in the Welsh transport sector.

We are developing a framework of suppliers to work with us not only to improve transport connectivity, but also to provide wider benefits for Welsh communities.   Our sustainable and ethical approach puts people first and contributes to long-term sustainability. In line with the Welsh Government’s objectives outlined in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act, TfW has a range of supply-chain requirements.   In 2019, Business Wales will provide free workshops focusing on HR and sustainability, looking at these requirements in more detail to help Welsh SMEs improve their chances of winning these tenders. These workshops will take place at locations across Wales.

HR Essentials Workshop TfW’s key supply chain requirements address issues including HR, modern slavery, diversity, equal opportunities, zero-hour contracts and ethical resourcing.   Business Wales will provide a background to the Future Generations (Wales) Act to enable potential suppliers to respond to tender Pre-Qualification Questions on the Code of Practice on Ethical Employment in Supply Chains, followed by practical exercises and action plans to help you improve your Employment Practices and will cover topics such as the Living Wage, Anti-Bribery and Modern Slavery.

Sustainability Essentials Workshop TfW’s key supply chain requirements address issues including sustainability, minimising waste, forest stewardship and decarbonisation.   Business Wales will provide a background to the Future Generations (Wales) Act to enable potential suppliers to respond to tender Pre-Qualification Questions on sustainability, followed by practical exercises and action plans to help you improve your company’s sustainable performance and promote your corporate and social responsibility.
