⚠️ Road closure due to essential works – Ystrad Road – Jct / Tyisaf Road Gelli.
🗓️ 19th – 21st August
Essential gas works will take place within the junction area of Ystrad Road/Tyisaf Road and will have some short term impact on road users. Work will take place during daytime hours between Saturday 19th August and Monday 21st August.
To enable this work to happen safely, we will need to;
- have traffic management in place on Ystrad Road (A4058). This will involve a short section of the westbound carriageway at the junction of Tyisaf Road with traffic controlled by stop / go boards in the day time and traffic lights overnight
- close the junction at Tyisaf road and divert road users. There will be signage in place for this, which will divert traffic along Gelli Road and Church Road (B4223)
The image below shows our area of work. As the work will involve deep excavations, no vehicles wlil be able to cross over it. Therefore, emergency service vehicles will also be required to follow the diversions in place.
These works will also require amendments to public transport operations in the area during the days listed above. The 130 Stagecoach bus service will serve Gelli and Ton Pentre via Nantgwyddion Road whilst the 120 Stagecoach service will serve Llwynypia and Ystrad.
Footpaths will remain open during this time. For access between Tyisaf Road and Ystrad Road cyclists should either dismount and use the adjacent footpath or follow the diversion.
