Llynnoedd Cosmeston – Y daith berffaith o’r cledrau i’r llwybrau

22 May 2024

Summer's on the horizon, and with it comes the itch for an adventure.

A stone throw away from Penarth station, you'll find the start of the old railway path, a hidden gem transformed into a peaceful walking and cycling route. Perfect for a rail-to-trail escape, this scenic path is ideal for families.

Did you know that kids can travel for free with a fare paying adult.. well now that’s a good deal!

The path winds its way towards the idyllic Cosmeston Lakes. This picturesque park boasts two lakes, perfect for a picnic or a spot of wildlife watching.

Ready for an adventure? Why not explore the Cosmeston Medieval Village whilst you’re here (a short walk from the lakes), a fascinating glimpse into the past. It is one of Wales' leading open-air museums and a popular heritage attraction within the Vale of Glamorgan.

If you have time, consider extending your adventure by exploring more of what the area has to offer. Don't miss a stroll down iconic Penarth Pier. Feel the cool sea breeze, grab an ice cream (rum and raisin, anyone?), and soak up the panoramic views of the Bristol Channel.
